About Sydney Payne

Sydney Elizabeth Payne was born on May 2, 2016 in The Woodlands, Texas. She joined big sister Kennedy and brought immediate joy to the family.

When Sydney was 2 weeks old, she was diagnosed unexpectedly with Cardiomyopathy. The form of Cardiomyopathy she was diagnosed with is very rare and untreatable. She became very ill and was on full life support in the Heart Failure Cardiovascular ICU unit at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, TX. Doctors recommended a heart transplant to save Sydney’s life on June 2, 2016. 15 days later, on June 17th, Sydney received her new heart!

Although her new heart is functioning well, her body continues to drain vital nutrients including properties of her immune system, plasma & blood clotting agents. After numerous attempts, procedures & surgeries to stop the drainage, the doctors diagnosed Sydney with a very rare lymphatic system condition and will be transported to Philadelphia to seek additional treatment.

When faced with the daunting financial challenge of a heart transplant, our family partnered with The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA). With their help, friends and family have come together to help raise $75,000 for transplant-related expenses.

When you donate to COTA in honor of Sydney Payne, 100% of the funds contributed will assist with transplant-related expenses now and throughout her lifetime.

Thank you for your continued prayers, love and support.
